Certified Meditation Teacher

I am a therapist with over 20 years of experience, having opened my private practice in my 2008. My early roles included working as a home-based therapist for families in the CPS system, a psychotherapist at the Center for Success and Independence supporting multi-diagnosed adolescents and their families, and serving as the Program Coordinator for the Houston Chapter of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA), where I developed and managed programming to support those affected by mood disorders.

In 2007, I was recognized as a “Hero in Mental Health “by the Texas Chapter of NAMI. Also, I co-founded the PRISM program, a DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) outpatient program now offered by Ethos, and have been fully trained and certified by Marsha Linehan’s Behavioral Tech. Over the 17 years, I have dedicated my practice to treating adult and teen clients with DBT, in addition to offering Prolonged Exposure Therapy, EMDR, and integrating CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and IFS (Internal Family Systems) principles.

In 2022, I founded the Awakening Center, a wellness therapy outpatient center offering therapy, mindfulness and meditation programs for the Houston community and local schools. My vision for the Awakening Center is to create a space where people can receive evidence-based therapies, learn skills to enhance their wellness, and build a community with like-minded, like-spirted people.

Nature therapy is an important aspect of my practice, and as a Certified Meditation Teacher, I offer mindfulness teachings that encourage clients to explore healing through the living world. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, working closely with clients and their treatment providers to empower each person to build a life of joy and fulfillment.

I enjoy birding, nature photography, nature walks, playing Mahjong with my close friends, and attending concerts and sports events. I am also a proud mom to a UT Longhorn and a St. Agnes HS Tiger. It is my honor to support my clients as they build lives worth living, grounded in community and achieving their personal aspirations.
